 "Border Security Now!!!"

He was just 28-years old. Doing what he loved to do when he was gunned down early last Sunday morning. This native of Rhode Island had been on the Dallas, Texas police force for five years. Married just two-months ago, Officer Brian Jackson was responding to a "domestic disturbance" call when he became the 76th Dallas police officer to die in the line of duty.

Juan Lizcano, a 28-year old who immigrated into America illegally from Mexico, is being held in the Dallas County jail charged with capital murder and aggravated assault. Immigration officers have placed a hold on Lizcano but this all comes a little late. This should have been done at least two-months ago when Lizcano was arrested not once--but twice in September. He slipped through the cracks, got out of jail and got drunk again and then last Saturday evening according to a friend who was with him, Lizcano said he was going to kill his girlfriend because she was with another man. At the girlfriend's home, Lizcano fired one round into the ceiling and that was when Officer Jackson responded along with other Dallas police officers to the domestic disturbance call. It cost him his life.

Now the politicians again come out of the woodwork to talk about the REAL problem. When are we going to take action against illegal immigrants that continue to flow into the United States by the thousands? And they are not only from Mexico. Recently while taking an up-close look at the border control problem, U.S. Rep. Kenny Marchant, who serves parts of Denton, Dallas and Tarrant counties, related a surprising story. He said while he was at the Laredo processing center, a dozen illegal border- crossers were being processed when another six were brought in and NOT ONE OF THOSE EIGHTEEN PEOPLE was from Mexico. They all came from Central and South American countries like Honduras, El Salvador and Brazil. I wonder how many...maybe from Iran, Saudi Arabia or North Korea, have made it through our leaking, inviting borders with Mexico. How many anti-Americans have used those entry points to get inside our country and plot havoc upon the freedoms we have enjoyed for decades.

Pardon me if I sound repetitive, but you don't see many people trying to LEAVE America. They are all trying to GET IN!

Rep. Marchant also said Texas now houses more than a million illegal immigrants according to the Migration Policy Institute. That according to Marchant has created a state of emergency along the Texas-Mexico border.

This is not to condemn the efforts of our border patrol, but we are undermanned and under-funded. Congress needs to stop TALKING and do something about the problem. We need more manpower, improved technology, better infrastructure and more training.

America has more than 30,000 troops stationed along the 143-mile South Korean border . But only about 10,000 agents are expected to \effectively control our border with Mexico which is hundreds of miles longer than that South Korean border where the 30,000 plus Americans are ever- present.

Today our "catch and release" policy should be changed as quickly as possible to "catch and remove". Rep. Marchant says "This crisis threatens the security not only of Texas, but all Americans. Congress and the president should act now."

Tightening control of U.S. borders will not bring back Dallas Police Officer Brian Jackson but it will help remove that indelible picture we all saw on TV News programs of his alleged killer --Juan Lizcano-- passed out in deep sleep in the back seat of a Dallas Police car.

If Congress and our President will quit listening to the wimps and whiners of our land. our borders could be better controlled and just maybe it would be tougher for illegal immigrants to do things like kill police officers----AND FLY JET AIRLINERS INTO NEW YORK SKYSCRAPERS!
