                                                BRIDGE RATINGS

KJAC-FM, DenverAmerica’s First “JACK” Station One Year Later

Bridge Ratings President, Dave Van Dyke announced today the release of the

company’s March audience measurement survey for the Denver, Colorado radio market.

“With all the new ‘Jack’ and ‘Jack’-like clones popping up in cities across America, here at Bridge Ratings we have been curious about how the first “Jack” station in the United States (KJAC-FM/Denver) is performing. KJAC-FM will be celebrating its first anniversary with the format on April 14. We’ve learned an amazing amount of information from this survey,” explained Van Dyke. “The bottom line? JACK has legs and it powerfully delivers the Denver 25-49 year old.”

“Clearly, 105-5 JACK-FM is a key player in the Denver market,” Van Dyke continues. “The Bridge Ratings study conducted March 19th – 25th ranks the station among the top adult stations 25-54 in both cume and “favoriteness”.

Based on Bridge Ratings’ research methodology station loyalty is best represented by how well a station converts its weekly audience to listeners who consider the station their favorite. “Favoriteness is equivalent to a station’s first-preference listeners, that group of listeners who spend the most time with a given station.” explains Van Dyke.

Bridge Ratings measures station performance more effectively because its telephone methodology reaches a significantly higher percentage of households than the common diary research method.

“This study is the most current audience measurement available for the Denver market,” adds Van Dyke, “and we are impressed that KJAC-FM is converting over 50% of its weekly audience to favorite station status. Conversion at this level is unique to this format.”

We have found that these two statistics, when viewed together, paint a very clear picture of the health of any given radio station. A year into the format, JACK-FM Denver is very healthy.”
